A THOMAS POEM: THE RHYTHM

My heart beats in time to the rhythm
Of your constancy and devotion

To your wonderful Family
Even though
We've never met..

But perhaps we have

Vicariously

In some other place and time
When the world was filled with Hope

Now, we look to the Music
To get us through these ropes, slings, arrows, and mini crises
Make life, not impossible to survive, but
Almost as a test
A test of Faith

To remind us of the Path that all must take
At some point or another
To define themselves by themselves
With no one else's judgment at stake

A THOMAS POEM: QUEEN OLGA, PERM, THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

The first time I saw your face

I thought that it was quite nice

Not knowing anything about you

I found you attractive and all

An interesting profile

I thought as the thought crossed my eyes

I didn't take much time to ponder you

Just a quick glance

A slightly longer look than most

Of the photos that I had seen

Since you were in profile after all

And I couldn't see your eyes

I was aware of your nose

The downcast look of your eyes

The ears and the slightly open blouse

I remember thinking quickly

That I once had a military shirt

With buttons on the shoulder

like that

I did

Look at your hair

It seemed that it was like being in the forest and that was a good thing

It was on the wild side

Without being outrageously so

I could deal with it

Just as you don't think about it

Having lived with it all your life

But . . . .

To me . . . .

I liked

I still like

A great deal

Don't know why

Think that you're growing on me

Hope that I never ever stop coming by

You're sleeping now

I'm awake

Been awake from the first moment

That you sent a message to me

I'm thankful for that

Eternally grateful for that

I'm celebrating my Thanksgiving like this

Until the day that my Father gets back

Things look pretty grim right now

I don't know if he can take it all

Give it my best shot is all

Before he says goodbye to it all

Things be like that

Sometimes

thank goodness it ain't happened yet
